Oil changes are often overlooked as not important, this couldn’t be further off, however. A vehicle generates its power through an internal engine. This means they are many parts moving at high speeds with tremendous force. With all of this movement being generated, heat and friction are created. The purpose of the oil is to lubricate these parts. Allowing them to create less friction and ensuring that your engine runs smoothly without overheating or wearing down. It also prevents gunk and debris from building up on your engine.
There are 4 possible types of oil changes that would be needed. If you aren’t sure which oil change service your engine needs no worries, our ASE-certified mechanics will be able to assist you in choosing the correct one.
Oil changes are vital to the health of your engine. Automakers usually recommend getting an oil change for every 5,000 to 7,000 miles. However, most vehicle manufacturers recommend getting a quick oil change every 3,000 miles. This is quite a far range of miles. This greatly depends on what oil you decided to go with. Conventional for example we would recommend you get it changed every 3,000 to 5,000. A synthetic should have no problem getting you to that 6,000 to 7,000 though.
The biggest factor in knowing how often to get an oil change service is paying attention to your driving conditions. Being in Colorado, know that a majority of the year would be considered “Server conditions” with the fluctuations in temperature, and altitude. It’s always safer to get your oil checked than to not.
